What the CET syllabus actually covers
Rajasthan CET is a screening test conducted by the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) at two levels — Senior Secondary (12th) and Graduation. Both levels test a common core of Rajasthan General Knowledge, with the graduation paper going deeper in polity, economy and reasoning.

Difference between 12th level and graduation level
The 12th-level paper stays closer to school-standard factual recall. The graduation-level paper asks more application-based questions, particularly in polity and economy, and the reasoning section is harder. If you are eligible for both, prepare the graduation syllabus — it fully contains the 12th-level content.
A realistic study order
- Rajasthan history, art and culture first. Largest weight, purely factual, and the base for many polity questions.
- Rajasthan geography next. Learn the 41-district and 10-division structure properly — outdated 50-district material will cost you marks.
- Polity, then economy. These build on the history you have already covered.
- Science and computer. High scoring-per-hour because the question depth is limited.
- Language papers throughout. Hindi grammar improves by daily short practice, not by one long block.
- Maths and reasoning last, but daily. Twenty minutes every day beats four hours once a week.
Negative marking changes your strategy
CET applies 1/3 negative marking. If you can eliminate two of four options, a guess is mathematically favourable. If you cannot eliminate anything, leaving the question blank is usually the better choice. Practise with the penalty applied so this judgement becomes automatic.
